Liberal or Conservative?

Whenever people discuss politics or economics, it seems like the first question that defines the rest of the conversation is always: "Are you a liberal or a conservative?" as if that simple binary label defines the entirety of your thoughts and feelings on all the issues facing the world.
Not only must issues be taken on a case by case basis, but the fundamental meanings of the terms "liberal" and "conservative" can deviate vastly depending upon the context. On this site, we repudiate the use of such simplistic labels that only serve to keep our nation's dialog and consideration of ideals at an exceedingly superficial level.
